Magnificent Mind Reader

Aug 19, 2023

“The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man …” (Psalm 94:11 KJV)

“The LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee …” (1 Chronicles 28:9 KJV)

Now and forever, God is a SPIRIT—Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient. Even when God was manifest in the flesh as the man Christ Jesus, still the Spirit of God was at work everywhere, reading hearts, thoughts, and minds. There is no place where the Spirit of God cannot go, nothing He cannot know, and nothing that can be hid from Him.

Selah.

It’s interesting that not only does the Spirit of God read our hearts, but in some wondrous way His WORD is also a “reader” of minds … “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword … and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 KJV)

The Word of God is the ultimate authority by which we are, and will ALL be, judged—it is the plumb line that defines good intentions from evil ones, light from darkness, obedience from disobedience, faith from unbelief. Every person is subject to the same scrutiny and held to the same standard. “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight …” (Hebrews 4:13 KJV)

But it begs the question, with all this spiritual interpreting going on, can Satan also read our minds? EMPHATICALLY NO! It takes omniscience to read minds, which the Devil and his demons do not have. God alone is Omniscient; He alone possesses the ability to know the thoughts and intents of the human heart. Satan is not a mind reader; he cannot know our thoughts, but he hears our VOICE. We may entertain a doubt in our heart, but we must never allow that doubt to escape our lips—never give Satan any ideas for conversation topics to whisper into our ears.

Naturally, our thoughts will never match God’s thoughts. It’s useless to try to get Him to think like us. Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Therefore, instead of trying to persuade God to see things our way, it is far better to have HIS mind and to fill our understanding with His thoughts—His Word.

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2:5 KJV)

This can happen when the Spirit of God fully inhabits our soul and fills our mind with HIS thoughts—His intentions. What are God’s intentions for us? That we may have access to the very mind of God. Not to give us mind-reading capabilities, but granting us power to possess the spiritual gifts of Godly wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, reverence, and the fear of the Lord. (Isaiah 11:2)

“We have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. (1 Corinthians 2:12 NLT).

Prayer: Dear Jesus, I willingly give my whole heart, mind, and soul to you. I entrust my thoughts to YOU. I want You to saturate my spirit so completely that my every thought and intention aligns with Your Will and Your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
